Stronger, shinier hair with a rich natural red-copper colour and zero harsh chemicals. This is the hair ritual East Africa has trusted for thousands of years.
Our Henna (ሂና) is pure, finely sifted leaf powder from the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis), sourced from East Africa. In Ethiopia and Eritrea, henna has decorated hands and feet at weddings and holidays and conditioned hair for generations. Now you can bring that tradition home.
What our Henna does for your hair
-
✓ Natural colour: warm copper-red tones on lighter hair and a rich auburn shine on dark hair.
-
✓ Covers greys naturally: greys turn a warm copper instead of standing out.
-
✓ Thicker-feeling hair: henna coats each strand, so hair feels fuller and stronger.
-
✓ Mirror-like shine: smooths the hair surface for a glossy finish.
-
✓ Healthy scalp care: a traditional treatment for a clean, balanced scalp.
-
✓ Long-lasting results: colour gradually deepens over the first 48 hours and lasts for weeks.
-
✓ Also for skin art: use it for traditional henna designs on hands and feet.
-
✓ 100% pure: no PPD, no metallic salts, no ammonia, no peroxide.
An ancient East African beauty tradition
Henna has been part of Ethiopian and East African celebrations for centuries. Women gather before weddings and religious holidays to adorn hands and feet and to treat their hair. Originally sourced from East Africa, our henna carries that heritage into a modern, chemical-free hair routine.
How to use (hair)
- Mix the powder with warm water, or with black tea or lemon juice for deeper colour, into a thick, yoghurt-like paste.
- Cover and let it rest for 2–6 hours so the colour releases.
- Wear gloves. Apply to clean, dry hair from root to tip.
- Cover with a shower cap and leave for 1–3 hours. Longer gives deeper colour.
- Rinse with water only, and wait 24–48 hours before shampooing.
Tip: for a conditioning treatment with less colour, mix henna with yoghurt and rinse after 30–45 minutes.
Ingredients
100% henna leaf powder (Lawsonia inermis).
